This purchase is for protective ensemble firefighter wear used during emergency calls, known as “turnouts.” Turnouts play a vital role in protecting fire personnel against all the dangers of fire, smoke, cancer causing agents, and other harmful materials and situations.

Sufficient funding to purchase the firefighter turnouts are available in the approved 2025/26 Fire Department equipment budget.
Legal Review
The Legal Department has reviewed the Sourcewell contract 010424-LIO and confirmed that it was awarded pursuant to a competitive solicitation process and concurs that the Council action is authorized pursuant to Idaho Code §67-2807.
